Okura beat 3 other companies for a robot palletizer system project for a major beverage production plant in Malaysia. A total of 4 robotic palletizers were installed in their plants to boost their production capacity. The 3 robot configuration installed in one plant advanced system capacity to approximately 1,700 per hour, with spare capacity. The products consisted of a mixture of cases & cans with loads of 6kg & 12kg (Maximum payload for the A1600 is 140kg).
The current system is one of the first fully-automated high-capacity palletizing systems in Malaysia, and replaces the former labour-intensive system seamlessly. The standard capability for product tracking enables the company to keep track of the movement of every single unit of their products. Other key benefits include the elimination of fatigue-related injuries & reduced handling costs & time. Totally integrated with their 24-hour production system, this arrangement is easily-configurable & flexible, to handle the different products & product sizes of the company.
The robot palletizer system installed was designed with extra capacity to cope with future increased production. This initiative was applied with the customer's full knowledge & approval.

Okura was chosen again to develop a material handling system in a leading food product plant in Senoko, Singapore. This dependable system is the newest installation among the 15 major projects already successfully installed in their highly-automated plant. The strong trust formed through our extensive working relationship of 12 years has allowed them to implicitly depend on Okura for any significant projects, saving them considerable worry & time.
For this new project, their pastry processing line has been improved with a Okura-customized system to simplify the system flow. The merging of lines resulted in higher output efficiency & reduced man-hours by up to 30%, depending on the product being processed. This state-of-the-art system features high flexibility to cope with various product sizes & has the capability for 18-hour operation.

Coupled with a new control panel, the RC 670, it boasts LCD touch screen technology , components complying to CE standards, along with faster computational speed & additional features. Auspack 2003, an exhibition for machinery, materials & technology relating to industrial packaging, was held in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from September 30th to October 3rd. Kockums Bulk Systems Pty Ltd provided a live demonstration of Okura's A1600 palletizing robot system, along with the pallet conveyors & related equipment. Visitors were impressed with the simple yet effective system that can improve & optimise their current operations. Overall, the exhibition has definitely raised Okura's profile in the Australian market.
