OFAS completed a record-breaking conveyor system installation in Shanghai, China, for one of the top MNCs in the Express Parcel industry. The S$10 million project, commissioned in December 2008, involves the design & installation of a distribution centre for parcels. It features a state-of-the-art high-speed automation system to sort parcels accurately to their respective destinations.

With 110 units of conveyors (total length of more than 1,800m), 14 units of telescopic conveyors & more than 50m² of ball decks, the size of the project was the largest that OFAS has accomplished in its 19 years of operations.

Installation & testing had to be completed within 3 months of site readiness. This posed a tough challenge due to its tight schedule & stringent technical requirements.

Competent site supervisors managed multiple stages of simultaneous installation to ensure that the schedule is met. Even with the great effort involved in multi-tasking, they ensured that the installed system matches the reputed Okura quality & reliability.
